Assistant Superintendent
This is a demanding position which requires a depth of field knowledge across multiple divisions for coordination of work with sub-contractors and self-performed work. Specifically, for elements of the project which we are self-performing the Assistant Superintendent should be experienced in the proper steps and procedures for performing the work. The Assistant Superintendent will plan out work in advance of performing tasks making sure that the crew has the appropriate materials, tools and direction to perform the work efficiently. The Assistant Superintendent supports the Job-Site Superintendent in the overall management of the project with specific attention to safety compliance by sub-contractors and our own workers. Maintaining a clean and organized site is an essential responsibility of the foreman. It is their job to perform and maintain accurate records of JSHA’s, tool box talks, project orientations etc. It is expected that the Assistant Superintendent will arrive to the job site in advance of workers and sub-contractors, longer hours and weekend work are expected as required to maintain safety, quality and schedule.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Responsible for managing Zachau employees, subcontractor’s and daily on-site activities for assigned project as directed by Super
Responsible for maintaining a Clean, Safe Jobsite and assist with documentation of Job Site Safety Plan
Initiate/Assist with RFI’s
Initiate/Assist with Punchlist management
Responsible for managing project schedule and critical milestones as assigned
Perform required work as working member of the crew
Daily reports as required by Super
Special Projects as required
Maintaining Safety Logs and Protocols
Managing and Tracking Special Inspections
40-50 +/- Hours per week
JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED:
OSHA 30
Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
Ability to understand local, state and federal code requirements and ensure compliance with the same
Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
Computer Skills/ Technical Aptitude – proficiency in computer technology, i.e. e-mail, MS Word, Excel, & other construction related systems. Utilize technology to enhance organizational efficiency
Ability to quickly learn and leverage information technology to best use
Current Maine Driver’s License
