FIELD PERSONNEL/CARPENTER


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction

  • Should have basic hand tools ie.. Toolbelt, hammer, measuring tape, etc..

  • Read and interpret plans, blueprints, instructions and specifications to determine work activities

  • Load, unload and identify materials, machinery and tools, then distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications

  • Store and stack material

  • Communicate and provide assistance to fellow employees

  • Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. Clean tools, equipment, machinery and work areas

  • Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, ramps and other temporary structures

  • Operate hand and power tools.

  • Report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete the scheduled workday on a consistent basis

  • Work independently with appropriate judgment

  • Must be able to meet all of the physical and mental requirements associated with this position including physical labor and managing stress.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to extreme weather conditions.

  • Workers are required to wear personal protective equipment while on the job.

  • The work generally requires routine walking, sitting, standing, squatting, climbing, stooping, bending, twisting, reaching and carrying items.

  • An individual will be required to work the majority of hours in a construction environment and will need to be able to quickly respond to a change in work demands.

  • Perform other functions that may be assigned

  • OSHA 10 Certification minimum, prefer OSHA 30 (will provide training)

  • Must have active Maine driver’s license and reliable transportation
