CHALLENGE MET
Fulfilled the complex requirements of both an occupied space expansion and a historic building renovation
Zachau was delighted that our commitment to workplace safety could play a part in our work for a company created to insure that very need. Maine Employers’ Mutual Insurance Company’s (MEMIC) growth has expanded its presence to eight other states, requiring a 50,000 square foot renovation of its home office in Maine. Zachau met the challenge of a multi-phase project that took place within a historic building and MEMIC’s existing home offices. Work was scheduled to coordinate the activities of the occupied office space with the phased construction that occurred on eight separate floors. The final project yielded Class A office space that included a fitness center and audio and visual production “green room,” along with a complete upgrade to the building’s mechanical and electrical system. MEMIC’s new home leaves this keystone in Maine’s workers comp community with a firmer foundation for its work throughout New England, and beyond.
