At our summer internship program, you will work onsite at one of our projects, gain practical skills, develop construction management knowledge, and have the opportunity to build relationships.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Assist the Superintendent in conducting Weekly Sub-Contractor Meetings 

  • Work with Superintendent on scheduling Sub-Contractors 

  • Help manage site specific safety plans - including conducting safety orientations, HSA’s, toolbox talks and trainings 

  • Ensuring on-site safety compliance, cleanliness and orderliness 

  • Aid in coordination of all required field verifications, testing and inspections 

  • Maintain records for site personnel such as daily field reports, field orders and RFIs 

  • Document changes and maintain redlined drawings for project close-out 

  • Encouraged to work independently with clear support and direction provided by the team. 

    • Help maintain a clean, safe and well-organized site o Help clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. 

    • Clean tools equipment, machinery and work areas 

  • Load, unload and identify materials, machinery and tools, then distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications 

  • Store and stack material 

  • Assist in other projects onsite as needed 

  • Learn to read and interpret plans, instructions and specifications to help determine scopes of work 

  • Work in project management program Procore, assisting with daily logs, observation/punch list logs, inspection and material logs 

 JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to extreme weather conditions. 

  • Employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places, extreme cold or heat and high noise levels. 

  • Workers are required to wear personal protective equipment while on the job

    • Must have steel toed boots and long work pants 

  • The work generally requires routine walking, sitting, standing, squatting, climbing, stooping, bending, twisting, reaching and carrying items. 

  • An individual will be required to work the majority of hours in a construction environment and will need to be able to quickly respond to a change in work demands 

  • Must be able to meet all of the physical and mental requirements associated with this position including physical labor and managing stressful situations. 

JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Experience with MS Office Word, Excel 

  • Proficient with taking and uploading digital photographs 

  • Ability to lift up to 65 pounds and to operate heavy equipment 

  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and other documents 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Great organizational skills 

  • OSHA 10 

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams 

  • Current Driver’s License
